The Welcome Every Baby (WEB) Newborn Home Visiting Program began offering home visits to families with newborns in our community beginning in February 2002. The mission of WEB is to assist families in creating nurturing and safe environments where newborns can optimally grow and develop.
Our goal is to welcome every new baby and their family into our community.
The WEB views parents as the most important resource in their children's lives and our outreach builds on
this philosophy in recognizing the strengths of the families we visit. Because our program is parent / family driven,
we will address any concerns or questions parents and family members may have regarding the care of their infant or
issues that impact their family. We will provide education, support and referral based on parent / family feedback
and communicate with the family's primary physicians as needed.

The FACT SHEET describes services and represents what WEB considers important regarding infant care and parent / family support. Because WEB services are family driven, we offer what families identify as critical to their current needs over the course of our nine month involvement.
WEB staff have handouts on a variety of topics in both English and Spanish and for a variety of literacy levels. In an ideal world, we would hope to cover all the topics we have identified as critical to healthy infant and family development, but we realize that many topics may not be issues for families. Our limited time with families focuses on the topics that families identify as important.
If there are issues that families wish to further explore, WEB staff will provide information and / or referrals to other community programs and will subsequently follow up with families regarding those referrals.
WEB began offering services to every baby born in Santa Barbara County in August of 2003.
